Macerator

In addition for the Lectrasan Marine sanitation device we also added a Macerator. 

Macerator

The macerator is used to grind up and discharge holding tank waste after leaving an area that restricted overboard waste discharge.  I installed an additional Y Valve at the waste tank discharge port and plumbed it so that waste could extracted at the deck pump out fitting or out through the waste seacock. 

Having repaired or replaced several macerators on other boats I mounted a pushbutton switch next to the unit so that the sound of the macerator could be monitored – the pump sound changes when the tank is empty!
